Doctrine and Covenants 31:3-

"Lift up your heart and rejoice, for the hour of your mission is come; and your tongue shall be loosed, and you shall declare a glad tidings of great joy unto this generation."

"Your level of spirituality is directly related to how well you fill the Lord's commandment to "Be of good cheer" and "Lift up your heart and rejoice". How many times in the scriptures did the Lord command us to be of good cheer? He didn't say "be of good cheer if evertyhing is going well, if you have enough money to pay all your bills, if your biorythms are up" or whatever. No. For us to be of good cheer is a commandment and not merely a suggestion."
